The Victorian Heart Hospital opened its doors to patients in 2023 as Australia’s first dedicated cardiac hospital, part of Monash Health’s network. Located on Blackburn Road in Clayton, the Victorian Heart Hospital has a full suite of state-of-the-art cardiac equipment and facilities, including a cardiac-only adult emergency department.
The Victorian Heart Hospital delivers a full range of ambulatory and inpatient cardiac care, including cardiac theatres, cardiac catheterisation laboratories, diagnostic imaging, specialist consultation and cardiac intensive care units.
It receives all out-of-hospital cardiac arrests within the Monash Health catchment, due to the availability of the ECMO and eCPR service. There is also a strong partnership with Monash University, enabling high-level, high-volume clinical trials and research to be completed on site.
