Masters of Advanced Nursing Practice (Perioperative)
Monash Health offers a wide variety of surgeries and perioperative services across the organisation. We cover multiple specialties including, reconstructive, gastroenterology, vascular, trauma, plastics, orthopaedic and many more complex procedures. We provide both elective and emergency surgeries. Our theatres are state of the art and we perform over 68,000 surgeries to the broad community per annum. We align with the college of surgeons and ensure we are providing the most up to date procedures safely on all our patients.
Post graduate opportunities are available at the following sites: Monash Medical Centre Clayton, Monash medical Centre Moorabbin, Monash Children’s Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, and Casey Hospital.
Course Synopsis
The Masters of Advanced Nursing Practice is a post-graduate program for Registered Nurses wishing to undertake specialist perioperative training. The course combines theory and clinical rotations between perianaesthesia and intraoperative nursing roles, with the aim of developing students as life-long learners with problem solving, communication, leadership and research skills. Successful applicants provide specialist perioperative nursing care working collaboratively within multidisciplinary theatre teams to facilitate high quality care to a variety of patient cohorts.
