About Monash Health’s media team
The Monash Health media team is the first point of contact for all external media enquiries related to patients, spokespeople, employees, research, events and programs.
The Monash Health media team can assist the media in many ways, including:
- enquiring about patient condition reports
- coordinating on-campus filming and photography requests
- suggesting experts and spokespeople for media stories.

Patient condition reports
Patient condition reports can be requested from the Monash Health media team, who will then check with the patient’s clinical team to determine whether it is appropriate to issue an update to the media.
If issuing a condition report is deemed clinically appropriate, the Monash Health media team can then advise media whether the patient is in a stable, serious or critical condition. For privacy reasons, the Monash Health Media team cannot confirm any further patient details, for example, name, age, diagnosis, date of discharge, and so on.
The Monash Health media team will not interrupt clinicians to obtain a condition report if they are busy treating patients – providing excellent patient care is the top priority for our medical and nursing teams. Please be assured that the Monash Health media team will respond to your query as soon as possible.
Media visiting Monash Health campuses
Media visits to any Monash Health campus must be authorised and coordinated by the Monash Health media team.
Media filming or photographing outside Monash Health campuses are only allowed to do so from a public area, such as a footpath exterior to the campus. Media must also ensure that patients, visitors, and employees entering and exiting the campus are not identifiable in any footage or photographs captured.

External groups, such as sporting clubs, performers and fundraising groups, must be authorised to attend a Monash Health campus.
