Three local clubs receive sporting grants

Pakenham Lions Netball Club, Tribes Basketball Club, and Noble Park Tennis Club are leading the way by being the first clubs to work on the Physical Activity and Active Recreation health area of our Healthy Sports Clubs initiative.

In December 2023, these clubs received a $100 grant from us to support their plans in this health area. Our grants help clubs start their journey under our Healthy Sports Clubs initiative, supporting clubs to be more inclusive and create fun opportunities.

Our Physical Activity and Active Recreation health area aims to ensure that everyone can participate in physical activity and that clubs are healthy places for everyone.

These clubs are starting exciting opportunities like:

  • Social, beginner, and all-abilities programs
  • Fun opportunities for parents and carers to get active
  • Exercise classes, such as yoga sessions
  • Walking groups
  • And active transport options, to name a few.

We’re happy these clubs are working hard to make our communities healthier.

Through our Healthy Sports Clubs initiative, we offer free support to sports clubs and associations in Cardinia Shire, the City of Casey, and the City of Greater Dandenong.
