Dr. Ben Markman MBBS (Hons) FRACP

Dr Ben Markman is a medical oncologist and clinical researcher who graduated from Monash University and completed his training in medical oncology with the Royal Australian College of Physicians. He subsequently undertook a fellowship in early drug development and translational research at Hospital Vall d’Hebron in Barcelona, Spain.

Dr Markman has been a part of the medical oncology team at Monash Health since 2010 where he specialises in the treatment of patients with lung cancer, colorectal cancer, and cancers of the upper gastrointestinal tract. He also runs the phase I clinical trials group which focuses on first-in-human drug trials and early drug development. His research in these areas has been presented at international meetings and published in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr Markman is a member of the lower gastrointestinal working party for the Australasian Gasto-Intestinal Trials Group, is an Associate Director for Cancer Trials Australia and is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at Monash University.
