The Movement Disorder Clinic is a specialist clinic with a multidisciplinary approach to the management and treatment of Parkinson’s disease, Multi Systems Atrophy, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and other related movement disorders. The program is recognized as a Center of Excellence in clinical care, research, and outreach by the Parkinson’s Foundation (USA). The holistic clinic consists of two arms:
- Medical Clinic with Specialist Neurologists
- Experienced Allied Health Professionals and Community Health Nurse. Allied Health disciplines include Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, Social Work, Dietetics and Neuropsychology
Eligibility
- State-wide service.
- Clients must have a suspected or confirmed movement disorder diagnosis.
- Clinic appointments require own transport.
- Allied Health and Nursing appointments are both clinic based and home based. Home based appointments are within 40 minutes (each way) from Kingston Centre and must be to address goals specific to the home environment. (NB: Dietetics and Neuropsychology appointments are clinic only).
