Rheumatology Inpatient Services

All Monash Rheumatology admitted patients are located at Monash Medical Centre Clayton.

Rheumatology consults services:

  • Inpatient face-to-face consult service provided at Clayton, Dandenong, and Victorian Heart Hospital
  • Inpatient phone consult service provided at Casey, Moorabbin, and Kingston

Rheumatology Outpatient Services

We provide specialist outpatient consultations for patients with a wide variety of rheumatological issues: including both general services, along with dedicated services for fibromyalgia, scleroderma, lupus, vasculitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriatic arthritis.

Monash Health Rheumatology runs the following outpatient clinics:

Clayton

General Rheumatology

  • Complex general rheumatology (702C) – Monday AM
  • General (253C) – Every 2nd Friday PM

Specialised Rheumatology clinics

  • Fibromyalgia (233C) – Monday AM
  • Scleroderma (CRHSCLM) – Monday AM
  • Psoriatic arthritis (724C) – Monday AM and PM (together with dermatology)
  • Lupus (760C) – Tuesday PM (together with nephrology)
  • Rheumatoid arthritis (CRHEARM) – Wednesday AM
  • Rheumatology-ophthalmology (CPOPHTP) – Every 4th Wednesday PM
  • Vasculitis (251C) – Every 2nd Friday PM (led by nephrology)

Dandenong

General Rheumatology (DRHEUMM) – Friday AM

Casey

General Rheumatology (2092B) – Every 2nd Monday AM and PM, Tuesday AM, Wednesday AM

Peninsula Health

Monash Rheumatology also attends General Rheumatology Clinics located at Peninsula Health in Frankston on Tuesday AM and Thursday AM

Referring a patient

Health Professionals and GPs can access our Referral Guidelines via the Rheumatology referrals page.

Doctors can discuss possible urgent referrals with the Monash Rheumatology doctor on call 8.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday on (03) 9594 6666 and page Rheumatology Registrar.

In the event of an Emergency, please present to your closest Emergency Department.

Patient Information

Patients will need their medical practitioner to send through a referral to be triaged by the Rheumatology team.

Please inform us on the referral if one of our extensive range of interpreters is required.

No cost to patients who are eligible for Medicare for rheumatological services.

Please bring to your appointment:

  • Medicare card
  • Up to date list of medications (or packed medications)
  • Recent or previous investigations relevant to the reason for the referral

In the event of an Emergency, please present to your closest Emergency Department.
