Dr. Peter Briggs  MBBS FRACP

Associate Professor Peter Briggs graduated in Medicine from the University of Qld in 1977 and completed his medical oncology training at Prince Henry’s Hospital in Melbourne in 1983. Peter has since worked full-time in clinical practice in Medical Oncology and Clinical Haematology. During this time Peter has occupied senior leadership and representative roles at Monash Health expanding clinical service and trials capacity. Peter has served on the boards of Cancer Trials Australia, Monash Partners Comprehensive Cancer Consortium and was Clinical Director of Southern Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service for 10 years.

In recent years Dr Briggs has consolidated his academic interests in Lung cancer and leads a number of clinical trials. Peter has interests in inpatient management of cancer patients to improve coordination of care across specialities and promote continuity between outpatient and inpatient settings. He is also committed to postgraduate and undergraduate training.

Peter holds a position as Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Monash University.
