Education and advice on IBD medications
Thiopurine monitoring service
- For IBD clinic outpatients commencing azathioprine and mercaptopurine
- Blood test monitoring to assess safety when initiating or adjusting therapy
- Monitoring of thiopurine metabolites tests and dosage adjustment to optimise treatment
- Advice on management of azathioprine and mercaptopurine side effects
- Accessed via referral from Monash Health gastroenterologist or inpatient gastroenterology team
Virtual Biologic Clinic
- Participation in multidisciplinary review of patients with complex biologic medication needs
