Where is the clinic?

The Sotrovimab Infusion Clinic is located at 239 Clayton Road, Clayton, Victoria.

Getting to and from the clinic

  • You can drive yourself to the clinic or have another household member drive you.
  • If a household member provides transport, they must not exit the vehicle at any time and they will not be able to enter the facility.
  • If you or a household member are unable to provide transport, we can arrange this for you.
  • You must not use public transport to attend the clinic.
  • There is free patient parking available outside the clinic.
  • The entrance is the main door into the building.
  • Please remain in your vehicle until the time of your appointment and do not linger in the carpark.

Personal Protective Equipment

  • Please ensure you are wearing a face mask at all times.

What to do prior to attending the clinic?

  • If your circumstances change, you become unwell or cannot attend the clinic, please notify the clinic of your absence on 0448 872 398 between 10am and 6pm.
  • For urgent medical care, please contact your primary care provider or call 000 for emergencies.

Your appointment

  • You will be given an allocated appointment time.
  • Please make sure you are punctual so that you do not lose your booking.
  • At this appointment you will be assessed for suitability for treatment and given information. If you are not suitable, you will not receive the treatment.
  • It is anticipated your appointment time will take up to 3 hours.

After your infusion

  • If you are suitable to have an infusion you must agree to remain afterwards for 60 minutes for monitoring and observation to ensure your safety prior to discharge.

What is Sotrovimab?

• Sotrovimab is a medication that has been developed for the treatment of COVID-19

• If given in the first 5 days of COVID-19 infection, it may reduce the chances of needing to go to hospital or dying by up to 85%

• Not everyone is eligible for treatment. There are certain criteria you must meet.

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible if:

  • You are COVID-19 positive AND
  • You have had symptoms less than 5 days AND
  • You are immunocompromised (regardless of vaccination status) OR
  • You have had one or no doses of a COVID-19 vaccine AND
  • You have one of the following
    • Diabetes
    • Obesity
    • Renal Disease
    • Heart Disease
    • COPD
    • Asthma
    • Over 55

Once you have left the clinic

  • You will be discharged back to your original destination and your isolation period will continue until you have medical clearance from your primary health team / Department of Health.
  • If you have any concerns, please contact the team who are providing your COVID-19 care (GP or local COVID-19 Care Pathway). Alternatively, please call the COVID-19 hotline on 1800 675 398.

If you think you, or someone close to you are eligible for Sotrovimab and want more information, please get in touch as soon as possible. This treatment must be given within 5 days to be effective.
