Minister for Health Infrastructure visits Pakenham Community Hospital construction site

The Victorian Minister for Health Infrastructure, Melissa Horne and Member for Pakenham, Emma Vulin today visited the site for the new Pakenham Community Hospital.

They were joined by our Chief Operating Officer Andrea Rindt and Director Communication and Engagement, Matt Mahon.

Over the past couple of months, there has been a lot taking place onsite, with a focus on internal fit outs and installing essential building services.

Structural works on level 1 and 2 are being finalised. This involves removing formwork and then allowing concrete to cure, ensuring the slabs are strong and stable.

Work on the roof and some parts of the interior have also commenced. The structural steel for the roof is being installed and internal fit out works have commenced. Civil works including underground services are advancing, which includes electrical, water and sewerage systems along with works on the roadways and perimeter façade.

There has also been progress towards finalising the equipment and technology that is needed for the hospital including furniture, fittings and IT systems, ensuring it will be well-equipped to serve our patients when it opens.

The project is expected to be completed at the end of 2026.Â
