Monash Children’s Hospital lit up with celebrations for Diwali, the Festival of Lights, this week.

The foyer turned into a dance floor, with patients, their families, and staff treated to colourful Bollywood dance and classical dance performances.

At a workshop, participants had a blast having-a-go at a traditional kolattam (stick) dance.

‘Diwali (Deepavali) is about bringing light to other people’s lives, and together you celebrate love, happiness and joy’, said Dr Ramini Shankumar, Service Director of Dental Services at Monash Health and one of the event organisers.

Thank you to the performers from Taal with Tiara and RP Dance & Drama Productions; S&S Event Specialists for the beautiful decorations; and Friends of the Children Foundation and the Dental team for the gift bags for the children.

We wish everyone a joyful Diwali!
