My Room Telethon: supporting children and families affected by cancer

We recently welcomed Emma Memma to Monash Children’s Hospital for a very special visit!

Last Thursday night, Channel 9 hosted the My Room Telethon – raising over $6 million to support children and families affected by cancer across Australia.

The night featured some live weather crosses from Monash Children’s Hospital – and a visit from Emma Memma, who spent time with some of our young patients and their families in the Monash Children’s Cancer Centre.

A few of our youngest and most passionate footy fans even joined the live studio audience with their families to watch the show.

Thanks to My Room Children’s Cancer Charity’s generosity, Monash Children’s Cancer Centre has provided extra support for families and improved the outcomes and experience of young patients in our care.

Their funding has helped us grow a broader allied health team – including a physiotherapist, speech pathologist, occupational therapist, and psychologist – ensuring our patients receive holistic care beyond their cancer treatment.

We’re proud to be part of the Telethon and incredibly grateful for My Room’s continued support in helping children live their fullest lives.
