Victorians are being urged to take care this winter, with cases of influenza (flu), COVID and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) on the rise.
Monash Health’s Director of Public Health and Infection Prevention, Professor Rhonda Stuart, has spoken with The Age and 7News about an increase in respiratory illnesses in the community and a rise in related hospital admissions.
“[Respiratory illnesses] are circulating a bit like a soup in the community,” Rhonda told The Age.
“It is a combination of travel, immunity and people being indoors.”
This flu season, protect yourself and your loved ones by getting your influenza vaccine and up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination. You can get vaccinated against both viruses at the same time.
