Visiting hours and deliveries at Monash Health sites

Over the last few years, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have deployed a range of measures to keep our patients and employees safe while continuing to provide care to the communities we serve. As we have done throughout, these measures are regularly reviewed and adjusted when required.

From Wednesday this week, screening teams were stood down from entrances across Monash Health sites. With the removal of screening teams has come after-hours entrance closures, as per pre-COVID conditions. This is required to maintain the security of our sites and safety of our patients and employees.

Please note that visiting hours across Monash Health hospitals are between 10am and 8pm and visitor restrictions implemented in recent times remain in place.

For more information, please refer to the Visitor restrictions page.

There will be no access for visitors through the public entrances after hours. Essential access, for instance in end-of-life circumstances, can be facilitated through emergency entrances.

Masks

With the stand-down of front entrance screening this will also impact access to surgical masks as you arrive. We will endeavour to keep a supply available at our public entrance, however if this is depleted, a mask can be accessed on entry to any clinical area or area where a mask is mandatory.

Masks are not mandatory in our public spaces.

Deliveries and food deliveries

We are not able to take receipt of deliveries for patients. Delivery people will need to adhere to visitor restrictions. This includes:

  • Per day visitor limitations (e.g. 2 visitors per day for an adult inpatient)
  • Delivering within visiting hours, between 10am and 8pm
  • Adherence to PPE requirements, as advised by the local care team

We are unable to accept deliveries from local restaurants or delivery companies such as Uber Eats and DoorDash. This restriction is in place due to the hospital’s visitor limitations and staff availability.

If patients wish to schedule deliveries, they will need to take receipt personally, within visiting hours.

Outside of these hours, the hospital entrances will be locked.

We ask all patients, families and friends to abide by the visitor restrictions, and to plan visits within visiting hours. For more information, please refer to the Visitor restrictions page.

Once again, thank you for your support as we continue to adapt to keep our patients and community safe.
