On Wednesday 10 May, we welcomed the Victorian Premier, Daniel Andrews and Minister for Health, Mary-Anne Thomas, to the Monash Children’s Hospital to visit the Monash Children’s Priority Primary Care Centre (PPCC).
The Monash Children’s PPCC is one of two after-hours care centres staffed with GPs and nurses, equipped to treat children with a range of common ailments requiring urgent attention but not a hospital-led response, such as minor infections, cuts and burns. This PPCC aims to save families from waiting in an emergency department.
Operating at night and on the weekend, the Monash Children’s PPCC has already seen more than 450 patients since opening, ensuring sick kids get the care they need as soon as possible.
Continuing with visits to Monash Health, Minister for Health, Mary-Anne Thomas also visited Casey Hospital on Wednesday afternoon with local members of Parliament to tour facilities and meet our birth suite and emergency department teams.
