Monash Health Heart ranked in the top cardiology hospitals globally

We are excited to announce that Monash Health Heart has been ranked in the top hospitals for cardiology globally.

Published in the World’s Best Specialised Hospitals 2022 rankings, Monash Health Heart is one of only two Australian cardiology hospitals featured in the rankings, achieving a ranking of 67.

Professor Stephen Nicholls, Director, Monash Health Heart is honoured by this acknowledgment and believes this ranking reflects the many people who have contributed to Monash Health Heart over the years, not only in the delivery of clinical care but in the important work undertaken in research and teaching.

When asked what this ranking means to the Monash Health Heart team, Professor Nicholls reiterated that their unique position to deliver specialised care and fostering a supportive culture has driven outstanding outcomes.

“I’m particularly proud that Monash Health Heart is one of the only few teams in the world that provides cardiac care for patients across the lifespan – starting in pregnancy and extending all the way to both end of life and older Australians.

“The way the team has continued to look after their patients and each other during the COVID-19 pandemic reflects the strong culture we have established.”

Professor Nicholls shared that the Monash Health Heart team has an ongoing commitment to establishing Monash Health Heart as one of the top cardiology services in Australia, and he is excited about what the future holds.

“We have an incredible opportunity to take this to another level as we build the Victorian Heart Hospital.

“This will help consolidate Monash Health as one of the leading health services in the world with regard to heart disease and we can’t wait to get started!”
