Nurse of the Year Tania Green receives her award 12 months on

Nurse of the yaeer award

Last week we finally had an opportunity to formally celebrate 2020 HESTA Nurse of the Year recipient Tania Green.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Tania was unable to attend the 2020 HESTA Australian Nursing & Midwifery Awards. Instead she received the award at a morning tea ceremony held at Monash Children’s Hospital attended by HESTA representatives and Tania’s colleagues from Monash Health Department of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery.

Tania, a clinical nurse coordinator for Monash Children’s Cleft and Craniofacial Unit, was recognised for her dedication in improving awareness of the treatment and care required for cleft affected babies.

Tania thanked her colleagues and explained the importance of this award, “The recognition and awareness the HESTA Award has raised for both the wonderful patients and families who live with a cleft diagnosis, and the service and care we can provide is a great result and something I’m very proud of” said Tania.

Nominations are now open for the 2021 HESTA Excellence Awards and Tania is shedding light on the importance of these awards, “They enable individuals and teams to celebrate the great work they do and highlight the impact their care and work has on the wider community”.

“If there is someone in your team you are thinking about nominating, just do it! Hard work and dedication can be rewarded, and this is a great encouragement”.

Congratulations again Tania.
