Congratulations to Pakenham Eels Rugby League Club

Pakenham Eels Rugby League Club recently completed their first health area in Healthy Sports Clubs. From 2022, the club has worked on the Inclusion (general) health area.

They implemented a total of 28 new healthy actions at the club, including:

  • Holding an all-abilities clinic for children 4-13 years
  • Holding a female development program for women and girls over the age of 12
  • Adopting and promoting an inclusion for all policy
  • Starting an onboarding process for new volunteers at the club.

Pakenham Eels Rugby League Club first worked with us on the pilot ‘Healthy Canteens’ program in 2017. They are now a registered Healthy Sports Club and continue to engage with us through our workshops and other projects.

The club is now working on its second health area, Mental Wellness. Within this area, they hope to implement actions that will support club members’ mental health.

This case study highlights the success of clubs that continue to engage with us through the years and advocate for healthy environments and behaviours. Congratulations to the Pakenham Eels Rugby League Club.
