Myuna Farm, a working community and children’s farm in Doveton, has already completed The Alternate Leisure Initiative’s Healthy Eating health area.
Partnership opportunities continue to grow, with Myuna Farm inviting two health promotion practitioners from our team to attend their recent Twilight Tucker and Tunes event on Friday 21 February.
This opportunity continued to build on the healthy eating practices embedded in the farm and served as an educational opportunity for the community. We facilitated a seed-planting activity for children, with approximately 60 children from the event participating. Children were invited to plant a vegetable seed to take home and watch the seeds grow, and many children discussed their favourite fruit or vegetable with us. They were also offered fresh fruit to take with them as a snack.
