We all want every child to build a healthy, joyful relationship with food—exploring the vibrant colours, textures, and flavours of nutritious fruits and vegetables. Dandenong North Preschool is nurturing this journey by partnering with our Health Promotion team to bring nutrition education to life.
Kindergarten teacher Soo Lee shares:
“Through our partnership, we borrowed the Cooking Together Tub, transforming Thursdays into exciting, shared cooking sessions. Children from our Wombat and Platypus groups come together to cook and enjoy a shared meal, creating a lively atmosphere and delicious scents throughout the preschool”.
These sessions go beyond cooking. Children practice cutting fruits and vegetables with child-safe knives, enhancing fine motor skills and building confidence in a collaborative, fun environment—key for their school transition journey.
