Community-based (Multi Disciplinary Centre) Nurses provide services to clients who have experienced sexual assault or family violence, and their non-offending family members. Nurses work closely with MDC stakeholders, including Police, Child Protection and Counsellors.
There are 8 MDCs in Victoria – Monash Health MDCs are in Dandenong and Seaford.
Services include:
- Free and confidential health support to women, men and children who have experienced sexual assault and or family violence, and their non-offending family members
- Assistance with access to:
- Doctors
- Dental services
- Mental health services
- Sexual health services
- immunisation services
- allied health services
- health information
- assisted referral for health issues
- education for all health issues
Eligibility Criteria
This service is for people of all ages who have been impacted by sexual assault and/or family violence residing in Monash Health or Peninsula Health catchments.
