Graduate Certificate in Nursing Practice (Paediatric Intensive Care)
Monash Paediatric Intensive Care is a state of the art 10 bed unit with a complex patient mix caring for 800 critically ill children from babies to adolescents in PICU per year. Our PICU is one of only two tertiary paediatric intensive care units in Victoria. Situated within Monash Children’s PICU leads the way in providing family centred care achieved through excellence in innovation, teaching, and research. Our paediatric services are available from metropolitan Melbourne, the Mornington peninsula and the gateway to Gippsland. We are a fast paced dynamic unit who provides the latest up to date care and educational programs.
Course Synopsis
The aim of this post-graduate certificate is to help you broaden your clinical knowledge, enhance your clinical decision-making skills, and become a confident member of the multidisciplinary paediatric intensive care team. You will apply this knowledge to clinical practice, using a child and family-centred approach. Focus areas include advanced ventilation, renal replacement therapy and the care of the child with a traumatic brain injury.
