About the Monash Children’s Hospital

Monash Children’s Hospital is one of Australia’s leading providers of integrated children’s health services, caring for more than 100,000 children every year, across three sites – our main campus at Clayton and satellite sites at Dandenong and Casey Hospitals. Stream Structure

  • A 12-month structured program, consisting of two 6 month rotations exclusively in paediatrics and newborn settings
  • The option to work either part time (0.84EFT; 64 hours per fortnight or 0.95EFT; 72 hours per fortnight) or full time (1.0EFT; 76 hours per fortnight with an additional 4 ADO hours accruing per fortnight)
  • Fixed term, 12-month graduate contract with ongoing employment offered at the completion of the program within Monash Health
  • Graduates in the Monash Children’s Hospital stream are not required to submit clinical specialty or site preferences as rotations are pre-allocated in this stream

Clinical Specialty Areas

Graduates may rotate to paediatric/newborn areas and specialties within the Monash Children’s Hospital, Dandenong Hospital or Casey Hospital during their program including:

  • Paediatric surgical
  • Paediatric medical
  • Paediatric oncology and haematology
  • Paediatric theatres
  • Pediatric intensive care unit (PICU)
  • Special care nursery and neonatal intensive care (NICU)
  • Adolescent inpatients
  • Paediatric day surgical unit
