Care at the Victorian Heart Hospital

The Victorian Heart Hospital will deliver world-class clinical care in an environment designed to improve outcomes.

MonashHeart is the unified cross-site cardiology service of Monash Health located at Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital. It is Victoria’s busiest cardiac service, providing nearly 100,000 episodes of cardiac care each year and treating more emergency heart attack cases than any other provider.

Upon completion of the Victorian Heart Hospital, the service will relocate into the new facility.

The Victorian Heart Hospital will provide the full range of cardiovascular services, including but not limited to critical and emergency care, outpatient clinics, imaging services, interventional services, and a full cardiac surgical program.

A multidisciplinary approach will be at the forefront of care at the Victorian Heart Hospital, thanks to close collaboration with Monash Health’s network of experts. Patients who require additional support will have full access to nephrologists, obstetricians, endocrinologists, and more experts from a wide range of related clinical specialties.

The Victorian Heart Hospital itself has been carefully designed to enhance the patient’s experience. Patients can expect a warm, open environment with natural light and ready access to landscaped outdoor spaces and café spaces. This less-clinical approach aligns with considerable research showing that a lighter, more open hospital environment can positively impact clinical outcomes.
