To set-up and dial into your Telehealth appointment, follow the steps below:

  • Read the Video Calling Guide to prepare for your appointment.
  • Select whether you are a Paediatric or Adult patient.
  • Select the ‘Telehealth Specialty’ as listed on your appointment letter.
  • Peform a ‘Test Call’ in advance.

Selecting the correct browser

Always use Google Chrome as your browser for video consulting via Telehealth. To check which browser version you are currently using, visit www.whatbrowser.org.

You can update your browser from chrome://help/, or download new at www.google.com/chrome.

Supported consultations

Your specialist will advise whether you will your local healthcare provider is required to be present for the consultation.  If so, you will need to book in with your local GP or specialist at the same time. Please advise the doctor that this will be a telehealth consultation with a Monash Health specialist and book an extended appointment.

To arrange this support, please complete the following steps:

  • Book an appointment with your GP/specialist office on the same date as your Monash Health appointment. We recommend booking an extended appointment that begins 15 minutes prior to your specialist booking in case you GP is running late.
  • You will receive two appointment letters from Monash Health; one addressed to you and one for your local healthcare provider.
  • Please contact Monash Health to provide our staff with details regarding your healthcare provider involved in the appointment. You can contact the Monash Outpatients Specialist Clinics on 1300 342 273

Further assistance, rescheduling and cancellations

If you require further assistance, or need to reschedule or cancel your Telehealth appointment, please contact us. You will need to provide us with your name, date of birth and/or UR number. Please also specify the appointment was via video appointment.

If you are in the video call and you are unable to join, we will attempt to call you on the phone number provided when you started the call.

To setup and dial into your Telehealth appointment, follow the steps below:

  • Read the Start Consult Guide to prepare for your appointment.
  • Log in via the ‘Staff Login’ button above.
  • Conduct a test call to ensure your connection and equipment are in working order. To do so, click the ‘Test call’ button on the right hand side and follow the prompts.
  • When your patient has arrived in the waiting area, open the wating area, select the correct patient name and click ‘Join’.

Using Bluejeans to consult with more than four sites

If you are hosting a video consult with more than four sites, use your Monash Health “Bluejeans” account to create a meeting and send it via email to your participants. Remember you will have to use Google Chrome as your browser.

If you don’t have a Bluejeans account on your Outlook email, contact Monash Health IT Services on ext. #42275 or log a call.

Is the patient eligible for Telehealth through MBS? Remoteness Area 2 through to Remoteness Area 5 are eligible for MBS billing (RA1-RA5).
