Have you heard people joke about being allergic to exercise?
For 28 year old Sam Mollica, it’s reality. Sam was diagnosed with exercise-induced anaphylaxis three years ago, after she suffered her first life-threatening anaphylactic attack during a morning run.
Sam suffered five attacks in 13 months.
Now a patient of Dr Sara Barnes at the Monash Health Allergy Clinic, Sam is participating in a medical trial which has helped her gain control over the onset of the attacks.
To say thank you for the care she has received, Sam will be competing in Run Melbourne on 30 July to support the Monash Health Allergy Clinic!
