What is Health Promotion?

Health promotion is the process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve their health¹.

Health promotion focuses on the population as a whole rather than people at risk of specific diseases, with actions directed to improve the health and wellbeing of the whole community¹.

Monash Health is working in line with the World Health Organizations Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services Standards recognising our role in preventive health and promoting better health and wellbeing for our community .
