Employment for Aboriginal People

Monash Health is committed to providing culturally safe and appropriate health services to our Aboriginal community. Through providing these services, we also recognise that this should also be applied to building a strong and supportive environment for our Aboriginal workforce.

We can only achieve this through working with our Aboriginal community. In 2014 we have employed a number of nursing and midwifery cadets and in 2015 we will further expand our employment of cadetships into other areas to build on this success.  Traineeships are another way of growing our Aboriginal workforce and in 2015 we will welcome two new trainees to the Monash Health corporate team with other traineeships available in further areas of the organisation.

As Monash Health moves towards creating a welcoming place for Aboriginal patients as well as employees, we work in partnership with our community on the establishment of places and spaces for healing and contemplation, providing culturally inviting and safe environments and support all this through the Monash Health Reconciliation Action Plan.

If you are of Aboriginal background, or know someone who is, we hope they may consider us as a possible employer.
