A bigger and better emergency department is being built at Monash Medical Centre.
Our emergency department is one of the busiest in Victoria.
The new facilities will help improve access to our site, and help our staff provide patients with urgently needed care.
The project is underway now, with an expected completion date of 2022.
There will be significant construction activity affecting the entire Monash Medical Centre precinct, including Monash Children’s Hospital.
During periods of the upgrade, there will be construction activity on Clayton Road, Wright Street, Dixon Street, and internal vehicle thoroughfares.
The way vehicles enter and exit Monash Medical Centre and Monash Children’s Hospital will change a number of times over the course of the project.
Pedestrian access, drop-off zones, delivery/courier access, and Ambulance Victoria traffic will also see significant changes.
We will ensure clear directional signs and wayfinding material are available for drivers and pedestrians.
We ask for our community’s understanding as this exciting upgrade project progresses.
